Software Developer Position Summary:

You’ll work directly with the programmers, business analysts and various functional leaders to understand technical needs as we improve and support business processes and systems. You’ll demonstrate the required strong technical skills needed to drive solutions with digital projects to achieve a blend of data-rich presentation and performance, while improving customer and user experience. You’ll be driven to offer creative ideas and will be highly engaged in technical decision making to achieve these objectives. You’ll be a team player and work well with business, technical and non-technical professionals in an agile environment while establishing a reputation of being versatile, dependable, and innovative.

Purpose Statement

In this position, you will play an instrumental role in creating and developing new and innovative web experiences as we evolve in our digital transformation. You’ll work with Sr. Programmers, project teams and various functional stakeholders to design, develop, test and document the technical solutions and integrations that best support the defined business initiative. You’ll help lead implementation of new features, processes, and changes with the team to ensure the end product meets the desired need. Initial tasks will be focused on feature development and enhancements with increasing responsibility expected over time.

Due to planned growth and upgrading of technology platform this position allows the candidate to wear multiple hats and delve in different aspects of technology.

  • Integrate data from various back-end services and databases
  • Strong knowledge of REST APIs, making GET, POST, PUT, and DELETE type calls.
  • GitHub or similar version control software experience.
  • Gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs
  • Stay plugged into emerging technologies/industry trends and apply them into operations and activities
  • Strong communication skills to work with web designers to match visual design strategies
  • Responsible for technical guidance, planning, directing, solutioning, and interacting with internal and external partners on a consistent basis.
  • Develop and enhance Web base applications and tools. Develop and test changes and fixes to existing code base, with escalating responsibility expected over time.
  • Test frontend and backend WEB applications.
  • Take projects from specification to implementation.
  • Collaborate effectively with assigned teams and departments.
  • Make recommendations to new and existing system features and structure. Assist in troubleshooting issues on web-based systems.
  • Provide technical support related to web-based systems to internal teams.
  • Reporting of progress including completed work, in progress priorities and future plan.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Technical Skills (5-year minimum experience in each area below):

  • Stack – CSS, HTML, JavaScript, Node.JS, ReactJS.
  • PHP experience and PHP frameworks.
  • GitHub or similar version control software experience.
  • Extensive experience and use of APIs. Familiar with REST APIs, making GET, POST, PUT, and DELETE type calls.
  • Professional expertise with relational database systems using SQL writing and/or troubleshooting complex queries, procedures, etc.
  • Experience working on a development team and large projects with numerous developers, engineers and cross functional stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with using OAuth.
  • Experience working with server less functions.
  • Back-end server configuration and support are a plus.
  • Experience with HubSpot.
  • Desire to lead and mentor with programming team, Business Analysts, and QA testers.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to establish collaborative working relationships with team members while providing leadership and mentorship in the required technical skills listed above.
  • Participate in innovative design and proof of concepts with emerging technologies and solutions.
  • Strong diagnostic skills to review, analyze, and modify the programming systems including encoding, testing, and debugging to support an organization’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) applications.
  • Provide technical leadership while responsible for development and implementation of system standards to deliver high quality end products.
  • Partner with IT vendors, 3rd party resources, including offshore relationships.
  • Strong communicator with the ability to level set and deliver within committed timelines.
  • Ability to work with purpose independently or in a team-oriented environment.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts by identifying and championing means of reducing time to implementation while maintaining high quality.

Education Requirements:

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, OR equivalent degree
